What is Hypnosis?

Not a mystical secret but a natural state of mind we all enter many times a day.

Hypnosis is a state of focused awareness in which attention narrows, the body softens and the mind speaks more easily with its own inner voice. You enter this wavelength every time you get lost in a film, drift on a long drive, or disappear into the pages of a beloved book.

In conscious hypnosis the client is not asleep — they hear their surroundings and retain their will. The clinician is a guide who simply helps them reach their own inner resources. Suggestions that fit the client's values are accepted; those that don't are politely refused. That is why hypnosis is collaboration, not manipulation.

Conscious hypnosis is a tool used by adequately trained physicians, dentists and psychologists within proper indications. In the right hands it brings observable benefit quickly; like anything else, it loses its power when applied to the wrong person or the wrong question.
